Performance Day! (28/5/21)

What a huge effort!! The performance went smoothly and we had an incredible experience performing two world premieres. The main challenges to overcome on the day were quite significant. Before our sound check Julia and I were ready to set up the microphones in the hall. We wanted to get a recording of both the sound check and the performance- just in case we needed it. The sound engineer at the con came in to look at the Denon Recording System as we were unable to start recording... he said it was not working and they couldn't repair it for out concert... So at this point we had to call in all our favours. I had a friend bring in her zoom H5, the concert coordinator found three zoom recorders AND SD cards around the building for us to use- amazing. James also saved the day bringing a whole mic system with a stand and two rode NT5s. Thank god for the legendary people here at the con!

A second issue Julia and I found was the issue of video recording from devices that didn't have adequate battery life or storage space. Julia managed to book two go pros the day before that proved to be incredibly handy.

After a huge week of prep and planning and a mammoth performance day (plus the pub after), Julia and I needed a couple of days to recover before looking at what we had managed to get recorded.
