Coding and Programming

Week 6 of Technology in Music Education we got to experiment with coding and programming small devices. We used the site makecode.com to program a simple Simon Says game. We had to create components for a sender and receiver to complete the task. Our guest lecturers Rowena Stuart and Renee Noble explained the steps and presented some really innovative ideas for applying coding to music education. They demonstrated how versatile the applications of coding can be in the classroom and convinced me of the value of introducing coding to students particularly in a hands-on setting.
